What a difference a year makes.  Last year at this time our melon and winter squash crop was drowning in the puddles left from inches upon inches of rain.  This year the weather has dried up right on cue as the melons and winter squash ripen up.  Perfect conditions for them!  For the CSA this week we will have the big watemelons back on the list and joining them are our traditional cantaloupes.

Sweet!

Also new on the CSA list for this week will be spaghetti squash.  Just like the cantaloupe last year, these guys were really hit hard by the rain and we did not have many.  This year it’s a bumper crop!

Also, our okra is starting to come on strong and we are putting pints on the choice table for all you okra lovers out there 😉

Here is the list for this week:

Tomatoes

Yellow Onions

Patty Pan / 8 Ball Zucchini

Cantaloupe

Watermelon

Peppers

Spaghetti Squash

Choice Table featuring: Cucumbers, White Onions, Garlic, Celery, Chard, Tomatillo, Eggplant, Okra, Galia Melons.   Half shares pick 2 and Full shares pick 4.

The herb and flower garden has some transitioning going on.  There are some things going away(yarrow), some others are just coming on strong(asters), and others are coming back(sage).  Also, the first planting of cilantro now has coriander seeds to harvest if you are interested.
