Spice basil has a blue color and is very fragrant! There are hints of vanilla, lemon, and licorice in its smell and taste. It will be quite different from your traditional basil, but definitely worth a try.
Cutting instructions: Pick the same way you would pick normal basil. The plants are most likely flowering but you can still eat the leaves.
Spice Basil Vinaigrette
Remove leaves from the stem, rinse and clean with cold water. Put the salt, sugar, mustard, and all of the basil in a blender to pulse. Pour in the olive oil and vinegar and repeat the previous step until you’ve used up all of the olive oil. You can use this on a salad or cut up some veggies like cucumber and zucchini to drizzle it over! (Recipe based on)
