The watermelons are hitting full on elbow-dripping ripe this week and just in time!  The forecast is for some pretty hot and humid weather and we’ll need that refreshment for sure.  My niece, Tessa, gave one a taste test just to make sure!

She was not a fan of those “little black things”  though…  Kids these days!!  We are growing seedless watermelon as well but they will not be ready for a few weeks yet.  In addition to the watermelon we have in the share this week:

Red Onions

Tomatoes – heirlooms, cherry, paste, red slicers

Sweet Peppers – Bells and Frying

Hot Peppers – Poblano, Jalapeno, Hot Banana

Tomatillos

Garlic

& A choice table with lots to pick from including Okra, Eggplant, Potatoes, Zucchini, Carrots, Cantaloupe and more

We are hitting full on peak tomato season and it always seems to go by so quickly.  So now is the time to get them in bulk for sauce, salsa, dehydrating, etc.  We’ll continue to offer 1/2 bushels of paste tomatoes for sale as long as they hold up.

We also have lots of garlic, onions, hot peppers, sweet peppers, basil, oregano, and other things you might need to add to your batch of sauce.  We even have bulk amounts of tomatillos if you prefer!

Looking around at what’s to come,  the spaghetti squash are blushing yellow and will probably be in the share next week!

In the herbs and flowers, we took out some older plantings and replaced with new ones that should last into October so careful where you walk!  Thank you,  Greg
