This week we have two new and colorful vegetables in store for you.  The first is a new (for us)  variety of acorn squash called Carnival.   They are green, gold, and yellow and quite the eye popper.   These will also store very well for a couple of months if you just want to put them in a basket for a little Fall décor too!  The second new item we have this week is our Dragon’s Tongue beans.  This bean variety was cultivated originally by the Dutch in the 18th century and is a fantastic fresh eating snap bean and one of my favorite things to grow every year.   The beans are a purple and cream color when we pick them.  If you choose to cook them, the purple will fade out.  They are just starting to come in, so the harvest might be light this first week but it looks to be a healthy row with lots of potential.  Here is our kaleidoscope of color CSA share for the first week of September…
