An added touch to the farm this year is our little pick your own herb garden.   Cilantro, Basil, Parsley, Tarragon, Rosemary, Oregano, Sage, Dill and… well… hmm…  a few others not coming to mind at the moment!  Tuesday members can help themselves to the herb garden and we will let our Friday members know here on the blog what is available and at their request include it in their box.

Currently the Dill, Sage, Parsley, and Cilantro are ready!

We finally planted sweet corn!  If all goes to plan, it will be ripe near Labor Day.  Maybe a bit later than normal, however, I hear good things come to those who wait.

The Squash are looking great, but I am afraid it will be 1 more week until we see any in the boxes.  I think next week you can expect to see our 8 ball squash and zucchini.  I had a slice of our last loaf of zucchini bread today that we had frozen from last year.  It was still delicious!

Another staple of summer, the tomato, is inching or in this heat maybe more like sprinting towards harvest time.  There are lots of flowers on all the varieties and even a green fruit or two.

Saturday we butcher our first batch of chicken.   They will be available for pickup fresh at the farm at 1 on Saturday or purchased frozen thereafter for $3.50/lb.  Our chicken is expected to be in the range of 3½-5 lb range.

In your box this week:

Lettuce Mix

Savoy Cabbage

Carrots

Golden Beets

Sugar Snap Peas

Radicchio

Romaine

Kale or Swiss Chard (email or call me if you have a preference)

Scallions

Have a healthy week!
