We keep plugging away at the planting despite the less then ideal conditions.  This past week we were able to get 2000 strawberry plants, 500 tomatoes, tomatillo, okra, lettuce, cucumber, and herbs in the ground.  We still have a long way to go!  It can get feel rather daunting to dwell on what needs to be done, but we try to remain focused.   There just are not enough hours in the day.  I have a feeling a farmer said this first and probably in the month of May!

Everything we have been planting is immediately receiving irrigation.  We pretty much missed all the rain the past two days.  We received some light rain off and on, but it dried up very fast.  We really need one of those all day soakers.  We wouldn’t even complain if it was on Tuesday during our 1st CSA pick up day of the year!

Speaking of which,  everyone will receive

Asparagus

Rhubarb

Spinach

Radish

Spring Onions

There might also be a light harvest of Kale and Arugula

We have a recipe section on our website to help anyone out with ideas.  We also have a new section under the Our Products tab called Our Vegetables.  Here you will find even more info on specific items found in our CSA.  We also like feedback on what you did with the share.

Cheers!
