Shew!  We made it through June.  It seems like I have been saying this at the end of every month though lately.  This has been a very rough year for farmers of all types of crops.  I know our neighboring farmers are way behind now with their hay making and wheat crops that still need to be harvested.   For the vegetable farmers, one of the problems of prolonged stretches of rain is weeds.  We sure could use a dry week, but the forecast does not look to promising.

Digging our root crops is a muddy experience right now.   We do have a few new ones to share with everyone this week…

Carrots

Garlic

Shallots

Potatoes

Kale

Zucchini

Choice:  Cabbage or Cauliflower

Herbs:

Parsley

Thyme

Rosemary

Sage

Basil

Oregano

Chives

Friday members:   Take advantage of the herb garden and remember to email me your list of herbs.

The garlic and shallots will just be harvested tomorrow and will not have been cured for storage yet, so use them up!  The shallots can be used in the place of onions and go fantastic with our potatoes.

We had our first cherry tomatoes today and it won’t be long till we have enough for everyone!  Also on deck are our cucumbers and tomatillos.

Let’s hope for a great month!
