We have some tasty fall carrots for everyone this week. Another root vegetable that goes well with our rutabaga, red beets, &radish. Although these roots do not get as much attention as the summer classics like sweet corn and tomatoes, I for one love the satisfying cold-weather vegetable dishes my wife prepares such as purées, gratins, soups, and roasted medleys. We are really starting to into the heart of the fall weather and it feels and tastes wonderful!
Along with fall though, comes the impending first frost. This very likely could happen this upcoming week. Before it does, if anyone is interested in drying herbs for winter storage please feel free to load up when you cut your own on pick up day. I know we have a lot of sage and parsley out there. Also, this might be the last week to pick a nice bouquet of flowers for the window sill!
